Shelby is from Ironton, Ohio and has been involved with music since the age of 2. She was in the front ensemble and drumline for marching band and in various honor bands throughout high school.

Shelby performed with Cap City from 2019-2022 and was on the leadership team. She marched with Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps in 2017, and Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps in 2019.

Shelby has been teaching percussion since her high school graduation in 2016. She has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Mathematics, both from Shawnee State University, and currently works as a Sales Analyst.
