Dan Meehan
Administrative Staff / Front Ensemble Coordinator
Dan has been involved with indoor percussion since his senior year of high school, when he played drum set as a founding member of the Notre Dame Indoor Percussion Ensemble from Cleveland, Ohio. After moving to Columbus to pursue a degree in computer science, he began performing with Cap City, earning a WGI Open Class gold medal as a rack player with the group in 2013. Dan picked up mallet percussion the following season and played xylophone/glockenspiel at Cap City until he aged out in 2015.
Dan has continuously worked with Cap City’s admin team and front ensemble staff since 2016, including serving as the assistant director and front ensemble coordinator for the World ensemble. He worked with the Phantom Regiment front ensemble in 2022, and currently serves as percussion director at Westland High School in Columbus, Ohio. Outside of band, Dan holds a masters degree in computer science from The Ohio State University and works as a software developer in Columbus, Ohio.
