Carmen has had a lengthy career in the marching arts, beginning with cymbals at War Eagle Winterline (2013-2014), switching to bass drum at Olentangy Liberty HS Winterline (2014-2018), and finding a unique interest and enjoyment with the instrument. She then went on to march bass drum with Erie Thunderbirds Drum and Bugle Corps (2018), Ohio University's Marching 110 (2018, 2019, 2021), Triple Crown Indoor Percussion (2020) Rogues Hollow Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2021), Connexus (2022), finishing her career with The Blue Stars (2022).

She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and currently works for OSU in the research department of the James Comprehensive Cancer Hospital.

Carmen has cultivated her teaching style through continued work with Rogues Hollow Regiment (2023-2024) and Westland High School (2024). This will be her second year with Cap City. She is excited to hit the ground running for the upcoming season.
